Calls to Santa Flood Phone Lines

New Zeeland has a free Santa phone number.   Santa has received 700,000 phone calls since his call center opened up lines in early December.  Phone calls are beating out letters by a ratio of 6 to 1.  Saint Nick only got 100,000 letters from Kiwi children.   The most requested gifts were bikes & ipods for both boys are girls.  There were also a lot of Lego & action figure requests from boys.

Quest & Verizon Business are in on tracking Santa this year.  Quest is bragging that the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) uses its fiber network to help track Mr. Claus on his annual Christmas Eve flight.   Kids are able to get his location by calling 877 HI NORAD starting Christmas Eve night.   You can also track Santa on the website www.noradsanta.org .

On December 11th VoIP provider Vontage opened up its only special number for kids.  Kids can dial 700-CALLSANTA from a Vontage line and get a recorded greeting from Santa.   Next year I am sure videocalling starting up Vidtel will establish North Pole hours for Santa next year.
